What is the Downtown Development Authority?MISSION: The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) shall correct and prevent deterioration in the business districts, encourage historic preservation and the creation and implementation of development plans in the district, and promote economic growth in the DDA.
The Coopersville Downtown Development Authority is a nine member board composed of passionate business owners, managers and residents. Every member has a great story about why they love this city, and we can't thank them enough for what they bring to the DDA. The DDA is funded through the capture of Coopersville tax dollars otherwise designated to Ottawa County and the City of Coopersville. The Coopersville City Council approves the allocation percentage and coordinates projects with the DDA for the enhancement of the Coopersville community. These projects fall into a few different categories, including infrastructure improvements (roads, water/sewer, etc.), economic development, beautification, among others. Many of our projects fall into multiple categories. This board has always been forward-thinking and under the leadership of the DDA Director and the guidance of the City Council, the DDA has accomplished many visible and invisible successful projects. Take a look at some of them on our Projects page and find out how you can get involved too on our Board page. |
