The North Bank Trail (NBT) is a proposed 18 mile non-motorized, multipurpose pathway located generally along the former Grand Trunk Railroad that extends from Spring Lake to Coopersville. West Randall Reconstruction
between the Roundabout and 64th Avenue - Completed

When the City of Coopersville reconstructed the West Randall corridor between the Roundabout and 64th Avenue in 2016, the DDA stepped up to ensure that the most heavily traveled stretch of our city was beautified with sidewalks on the south side, curb, gutter, storm drains, landscaping and irrigation. The crowning touch was the addition of LED lights to illuminate the avenue in the dark winter months.

Revitalization of Downtown
and Façade Grants - Ongoing

With the brand new streets and sidewalks in place, the DDA realized that the downtown needed to uncover its brick storefront heritage. The DDA sponsored some facade grants for downtown merchants and in some cases, purchased vacant buildings and sponsored renovations of the exteriors in order to attract new owners. It was a match made in heaven: those storefronts have been continuously filled since renovation!

Redesign and Paving of Main Street & the North Parking Lot - Completed

Not so long ago in a neighborhood only a few blocks away, downtown had few sidewalks, dirt tracks for alleys, no landscaping, and a lot of overhead power lines. Thanks to the vision and investment of the DDA, the whole of of downtown transformed into a charming, walkable destination with plenty of parking, pedestrian walk-thru parks and pavilions, public restrooms, and underground utilities.

Red brick pavers will guide you from restaurant to grocery store, from hometown shop to hair salon, from art gallery to grocery to diner to bakery... Shop, eat, and visit some of the best stores in West Michigan!
